Antiero Ebai Menyoli, of Oxon Hill, MD, approached the woman, a complete stranger, as she left the MGM National Harbor and spoke briefly, before the woman got into her car and drove home, Fairfax County police said.
While driving, the victim noticed a vehicle was following her due to one headlight being brighter than the other. She suspected it to be Menyoli.
The victim tried to lose the vehicle before arriving home. But as she walked to her house, Menyoli approached her from behind and assaulted her sometime before 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, police said.
The woman was able to break free and run inside her house. Menyoli followed her and broke a glass panel in the victim’s door to gain access to the house. He was unsuccessful and then fled the scene.
Menyoli is not known to the victim. Through detectives’ investigation and review of surveillance footage, they positively identified Menyoli.
On Tuesday, Dec. 12, Menyoli was arrested in Prince George’s County and charged with Burglary, Assault, and Destruction of Property. He will be extradited to Fairfax County.
